Led by our amazing Kindergarten teacher, Kai-Yao To, Shu Ren participated in Alameda County Community Food Bank’s Holiday Food Drive 2015 by hosting a food drive during the first two weeks of December. The school committed to providing up to 4 barrels of non-perishable food to the ACCFB. Together, the students and families all generously donated many bags of much needed food to give to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. The food drive officially started on December 3 and by December 7 the students and families had already filled 1 3/4 barrels. By December 10 that number increased to 3 barrels. With how much enthusiasm and support was being provided the school decided to see if may be possible to surpass 4 barrels and challenge themselves to provide 5. By December 14 it can be seen easily more than 5 barrels had been collected. The ACCFB informed the school that in fact that almost 600 pounds of food had been collected and donated!
On behalf of the ACCFB and the clients they serve THANK YOU, students and families, for your inspiring generosity!
