Better Together-3rd Annual Intercultural Festival
Shu Ren and our greater community shared many cultures that make up the diversity of the East Bay. Cultural villages representing Mexico, New York City, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Canada, Trinidad, United Kingdom, South Africa and Israel delighted our guests with food tastings, activities and interesting facts about their cultures. In addition, we invited performers to share their culture through dance or demonstrations. A heartfelt thank you to Sacha Kopin (Israeli dancing), Cal Wushu (martial arts), Rosie Kasim and Andy Maas (Tari Serampang Dua Belas-traditional Indonesian dance), UCB Azaad (Bollywood dance), Ballet Folklorico Reflejos de Mexico, Sorayya Dance (Middle Eastern and Central Asian Dance), and Live Oak Park Karate Dojo. An ecletic selection of food was provided by our cultural villages, Top Dog and Ippo Ramen.
