O Our Bamboo Garden has had a successful start to the school year! The students are growing accustomed to our schedule and routines while making many new friendships. Our big highlight is that students are sharing parts of their culture and learning about one another’s cultures through the Me Bags. With help from parents, each child is selecting five items that represent their identity or culture through art, language, food, music, and personal interests.

  The Mid-Autumn festival takes place each year on the 15th day of the 8th month on the Lunar calendar when the moon is at its fullest and is symbolic of gathering of the fall harvest.   Traditionally, it is a time of family reunions similar to American Thanksgiving. Shu Ren celebrated this special occasion together with tea and mooncakes and a special storytime by Que Laoshi who shared with us the very special folktale of Chang’E.

Welcome back Shu Ren to the 2018/19 school year, celebrating the 10th year of our wonderful community!   This year, we are also thrilled to be together on one unified campus. On Tuesday, June 12th, 2018, Shu Ren International School celebrated its first graduating class of primary years and middle years students. The excitement was palpable as some of our students came dressed to impress, while some were eagerly awaiting to change into their formal wear. On March 30th, 2018 our Kindergarten class of 2018 presented an astounding array of artwork inspired by international renowned artists and well known fine art techniques. Each child was so excited to give a tour to their families, teachers, and friends and show how they were able to create works of art that not only expressed their individual creativity but also their ability to understand complex concepts and styles within the realm of fine art. On April 18th, Shu Ren Math Club members Ariana, Kali, Jamie, Maxxy, and Alia competed with over 33,000 students from 772 schools in the Noetic Learning Math Contest. The goal of the competition is to encourage students' interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills, and to inspire them to excel in math. Shu Ren International School conducted it’s 2nd Annual Intercultural Fair on April 28, 2018.
