Shu Ren 2nd Annual Intercultural Festival
Shu Ren International School conducted it’s 2nd Annual Intercultural Fair on April 28, 2018. The fair was a unifying experience for both current families and members of the community, as we celebrated our culture and diversity.
There were many performances, interactive games, and cultural villages for everyone to enjoy. The cultural villages included: the U.K., Netherlands, Canada, South Africa, Indonesia, China, Columbia, Israel, Taiwan, Japan, and Switzerland. Historical information and engaging activities captured the attention of participants as they moved through each country booth collecting passport stamps. Country specific treats and drinks were also a huge hit among attendees.
The fair hosted multiple engaging performances ranging from African drumming, choir singing, creative dances, and more. A huge highlight of the event were the performances by our Pre-K and K-8 students who brought music to our ears through their Mandarin adaption of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” by Jane Taylor and “Lean on me” by Bill Withers.
Overall, the fair was a huge success and we couldn’t have accomplished this without the help of our amazing staff, parents, and vendors. Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to our 3rd Annual Intercultural Festival next year!
