Shu Ren Teachers Present at Making Language Relevant
On October 28, two of our experienced educators, Kai-Yao To (Kindergarten Teacher) and Lam Tsoi (MYP Coordinator) presented to a group of language teachers at a symposium held at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterrey with the theme, Making Language Relevant. The topic of their presentation was, “Inquiry based Learning and Teaching”. Their presentation started with a general introduction of Inquiry Based Learning philosophy followed by a demonstration focused on what inquiry learning looks like in a kindergarten class through a unit focused on ‘Plants’. Many of the workshop participants were new to inquiry teaching and learning, and were very interested in implementing the model in their class. The presentation gave them insight into inquiry education and the impact on student learning and engagement. We are so fortunate to have such wonderfully committed teachers at Shu Ren!
